WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is a safe and drug free therapeutic approach that addresses the subconscious mind, and, indirectly, the conscious level of thinking. It uses positive suggestions and various techniques in hypnosis for implementing positive changes in the way a person thinks, feels, behaves, to help in the healing process of various health conditions.

During hypnosis, the person is in a relaxed state while the conscious mind is in a quiet state, so the subconscious mind is receptive to suggestions. These suggestions bypass the conscious mind, allowing direct interaction with the subconscious. This relaxed hypnotic state is  like an altered state of consciousness, where a person is in deep focus and so immersed in a given activity, their focus narrows and their sense of time shifts, reminiscent of what is referred to as “flow state". It’s similar to what happens during meditation, except instead of training people to tune into the present moment, hypnosis makes them more receptive to suggestion. Although hypnosis is a natural state that we all experience every day, people who use it for personal development, in and after a hypnotic state, appear to have the ability to achieve remarkable things.

Hypnosis is not a dangerous procedure. Contrary to inaccurate portrayals seen on Hollywood movies and TV shows, it is not mind control or brainwashing. Hypnosis cannot make a person do something embarrassing that the person doesn't want to do.
